  • Henrik Schwarz is starting a new record label, Between Buttons, whose focus will be on "acoustic sounds and contemporary compositions." The German artist is working on the project with 7K!, the neo-classical venture of !K7. The first record is a mini-album from Schwarz called Works Piano, which is due out in April. That will be followed by an EP by the Syrian artists Khaled Kurbeh and Raman Khalaf Ensemble called Aphorisms, while frequent Schwarz collaborator Bugge Wesseltoft will also appear on Between Buttons. "In these times of constant turbo mode, likes and thumbs-up, we need to go back to basics," says Schwarz. "We want to to move away from the idea that relentless hasty productivity is a must, and instead take time to create space, to let ideas mature and to focus the mind on subtler sounds." Schwarz will showcase the sound of his new label with a live performance at Berlin's Funkhaus on March 29th, which happens to be Nils Frahm's "Piano Day." Listen to "4011 Liter."
