  • Berlin label and promoter Killekill is teaming up with FlexiWave to start a record distribution service, Metabanana Airforce. A crew that champions raw, roughed-up club music, Killekill has been putting on events since 2008, and putting out records—through the Killekill imprint and a handful of offshoots—since 2011, with featured artists including Bill Youngman, Eomac, Alex Cortex and James T. Cotton. Together with FlexiWave, a minimal synth label and club night, they're now getting into the distribution business with Metabanana Airforce, which has already lined up a slew of label partners. Besides the Killekill group and FlexiWave, the distributor will be involved with releases from some new and soon-to-be-launched imprints: Foreign Exchange, run by Varg of Northern Electronics (details for this venture are still TBA); Andreas Tilliander's Repeatle, named after one of the producer's lesser-known aliases; JoeFarr's User Experience; and Alienata's Discos Atónicos. Other partners include DSNT Records, Tropical Goth, Terminal Operations, UFO Station Recordings, Varvet and Things To Come, which US artist The Horrorist is reviving after a few years of inactivity. Check out the Metabanana Airforce website, where it's been revealed that a compilation from The Mover is upcoming through Killekill sub-label Boidae, ahead of that project's first album in 15 years.
