  • Christopher Willits' next album, Horizon, will land on Ghostly International on April 29th. The San Francisco-based producer and composer has been with Ghostly for over a decade now. He's released around a dozen albums, often leaning towards ambient and glitch music—the most recent being OPENING, a seven-part audio-visual project that came out in 2014. He also recorded two albums with Ryuchi Sakamoto, formerly of Yellow Magic Orchestra. Next up is Horizon, which he wrote specifically for use with a new spatial audio platform called Envelop that allows for more complex sound orientation than the traditional stereo format. That company will unveil its own 3D sound venue for immersive audiovisual performances, research and education on April 29th, with a grand opening event featuring Willits and others. You can hear the spatial dynamics at play in the album's lead single, "Comet."
