  • Home improvements are underway as home Sydney expands with ‘homeLive’, Sydney’s newest live music space. Nearing the end of its 5th year in business at the delightful Cockle Bay wharf venue, Home management has decided to incorporate live music into the purpose built club. Contractors are working round the clock towards their launch date with the difficult task of doing all the renovations without closing down the venue. The end product is set to be 1500 capacity homelive venue within this already infamous clubbing environment. In addition to home Sydney’s current amenities, the refurbishment will see new seating booths, glass mezzanine viewing platforms a brand new bi-level balcony and an impressive 10m x 5m stage. With completion scheduled for late September 2003, the first upcoming live performances are Jazzy Jeff on October 1st and the ARIA Showcase on October 17th The Venue team also believe that home’s regular club nights; ‘Together at home’, ‘Sublime’ and ‘R’n’B Superclub’ will react well to the new layout of the auditorium, and are gearing up for the October long weekend launch by programming live music into these club nights. Home Sydney’s Ron McCulloch recently had this to say; “We believe the timing is perfect for our move into live shows. Sydney has been crying out for an additional live music venue for some time and we’ve committed our extensive resources to completely re-engineering the main room to deliver a superior stand-alone live music facility. We also feel that our dance nights will benefit greatly from the additional flexibility and new dynamics of the main room! Now you can look out for regular live music from the state of the art surroundings of home.” Tickets to homeLive events and more information will be available through the below site.
