  • Trent Reznor's score for Quake is getting its first vinyl pressing. The 11-track score for the 1996 video game came at the height of Reznor's popularity, following the release of Nine Inch Nails' second album, The Downward Spiral, in 1994. Reznor composed Quake's score and also designed the game's sound effects. It has since become a cult dark ambient record, and is generally considered by diehard fans to be an essential entry in the Nine Inch Nails catalogue. The vinyl pressing appeared on the Nine Inch Nails website this week. It's the first time that Quake will have been pressed to vinyl, though there's no information on a release date or tracklisting yet. Originally gamers could listen to the album by putting the disc into a CD player. Listen to Quake's main theme.
