- Landing in late August, it wraps up his conceptually-minded trilogy for the Japanese label.
Fred P's next album is 7, the final entry in his FP-Oner album trilogy for Japan's Mule Musiq.
The New York house producer, real name Fred Peterkin, has used FP-Oner as an outlet for especially deep and introspective sounds. He launched the alias in 2015 with the 5 LP, continued it with last year's 6 and is now set to conclude the project with 7, which he made mostly in his studio in Berlin.
In a press release, Peterkin describes how he aims to have 7 bring together the esoteric themes established in the trilogy's previous chapters: "The record 5 was intended to introduce a meditative energy within a rhythmic construct, as the number '5' represents the dynamic and unpredictable. The album 6 is of an earthly and more harmonious discord... Finally, with 7, my goal is to merge the two into balance, as one focused state of mind, as '7' is the thinker beyond understanding or beyond the illusion."
We last heard Peterkin in full-length mode a few months ago on Escapism, an album issued through his own Soul People Music imprint and credited to The Incredible Adventures Of Captain P.
