  • Future Times' next release is Boulderball, the debut album from eclectic Brazilian producer Gabriel Guerra's Repetentes 2008 project. The Washington DC-based label describes Boulderball as an "insane, jubilant" record that sees Guerra drawing on inspirations like June Chikuma's soundtrack for the 1998 Nintendo 64 game Bomberman Hero, the 1985 Prisma LP from Cesar Camargo Mariano and Nelson Ayres and the experience of "going on YouTube and playing tracks at 1.25 speed." It's made up of nine tunes, including "Boulevard Internacional," a collaboration with Will DiMaggio, who put out a single on Future Times last year. That cut is also part of a preceding digital EP of the same name—shared this week as a pay-what-you-want release—which includes three non-album tracks. Guerra, a member of the Rio de Janeiro label crew 40% Foda/Maneirissimo, previously connected with Future Times in 2015 to produce a record under the name Japa Habilidoso. Listen to "Boulevard Internacional."
