- UK music industry figures have handed down this year's shortlist.
The shortlist for the 2017 Mercury Prize has been announced.
London trio The xx are among the nominees for their third album, I See You, which came out back in January on Young Turks. Other acts up for the prestigious UK prize include Sampha (for Process) and the grime artist Stormzy (for Gang Signs & Prayer). Skepta won the 2016 Mercury Prize for his album Konnichiwa. This year's winner will be announced on September 14th.
