The Japanese artist's debut for the label will come out in October.
UkabazUmorezU, the Japanese artist's first record on the label, contains 11 tracks made of sounds "sourced and appropriated from the local performing arts of Kanagawa [where the artist lives], his daily surroundings and Sugai's tool kit of electronic synthesis." The album will be his first full release of the year. In April, Lullabies For Insomniacs—the label on which the artist's last album, 2016's On The Quakefish, emerged—released a compilation with a Sugai Ken track, "Bantotenmoku." UkabazUmorezU will arrive in October.
Rvng Intl.'s Matt Werth, writing to Resident Advisor, said Sugai Ken had first contacted the label in the winter of 2015. "Ken had already released a pair of albums (2010's ToKiShiNe and 2014's Tada) and would share a brilliant third (last year's On The Quakefish) before we arrived at the conclusion that our worlds should share a closer corner in the cosmos." Describing the album, he said: "Like dark shadows cast on corners and across quiet streets, UkabazUmorezU offers a new take on the old night that visits each day on time and without trace."
