- It'll be the first release on Harris's new Kingdoms label.
Francis Harris and Gabe Hedrick's second album as Aris Kindt is called Swann And Odette, and it's due out in October.
We're told Swann And Odette picks up where Harris and guitarist Hedrick left off with their 2015 debut album, Floods, for Scissor & Thread. According to liner notes written by John Stroud, the new LP's "post-structuralist pop" was influenced by French author Marcel Proust's seven-part novel In Search Of Lost Time—in particular, the ways a character in the text, Swann, experiences a piece of music while falling in and out of love with a woman named Odette. The result is described as featuring a "seamless interplay of synths and instrumentation cast loose from their origins and awash in oceanic delay."
The album will be the first release on Harris's new label Kingdoms, initial details for which were revealed last month. These moves follow the recent disbanding of Harris's Frank & Tony collaboration with Anthony Collins. Harris is now running Scissor & Thread, the label he cofounded with Collins, on his own.
