  • Golden Pudel will reopen on Thursday, August 17th. The Hamburg club, which has been closed since February 2016, will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for the rest of August. The venue says it then plans to run seven days a week from September. It brings to a close an extended period of uncertainty after a legal dispute between the venue's owner, Rocko Schamoni, and his business partner, Wolf Richter, which began back in 2014. The dispute culminated in the Golden Pudel being listed for auction before a fire swept through the building in February 2016. (Reconstruction work following the fire is ongoing.) In the wake of the fire, Richter's stake in the venue was acquired and the space turned into public property. Benefit gigs and pledges of support preceded the club being awarded €300,000 government funding to aid the reconstruction effort. Upcoming gigs include DJ Storm with Pudel residents Nina and Good News on Friday, August 18th, and a Smallville night on Thursday, September 7th. The venue's flagship MFOC Sunday party returns on August 20th.
