- The double-vinyl set includes tracks like "Disaffected," "F3" and "Reykjavik."
Ostgut Ton will release a Function retrospective through its A-TON sub-label on August 25th.
Recompiled I/II, which comes with liner notes from Brendan M. Gillen of Interdimensional Transmissions, is the first edition in a two-part vinyl series compiling tracks from the Berghain resident. A mixture of released and unreleased tunes, taken from labels such as Synewave and Sandwell District, are spread across two discs. They include productions like "F3," originally released in 1996, 2007's "Reykjavik" and a previously unreleased "Function Mix" of "Falling The Same Way" from Sandwell District's Feed-Forward, an album considered one of modern techno's best LPs.
The upcoming retrospectives follow The 7th Plain's Chronicles I, a collection of tracks from Luke Slater's ambient techno project. Recompiled II/II lands in October, with details TBA.
