  • Dave Smith Instruments has announced a new desktop module version of its Prophet Rev2 synthesizer. The American manufacturer announced the first version of its Prophet Rev2 synth at the beginning of this year, which was meant to replace the retired Prophet '08. Now they're announcing a desktop version of the Rev2 (which originally came as a keyboard) which features much of the same functionality, including the same synthesizer engine and the same front panel controls as the keyboard version.
The desktop module will be available in October in two versions: a 16-voice synthesizer that will retail for $1799 USD, and an eight-voice version for $1299 USD.
