  • RVNG Intl.'s next release is a collection of works by American synth artist Pauline Anna Strom. Strom put out a number of records and cassettes in the '80s, some of them self-released, starting with a self-titled album as Trans-Millenia Music in 1982. Her music was inspired by a move from the American south to the Bay Area in the 1970s, when she discovered synth music by the likes of Brian Eno and Tangerine Dream. She bought a grip of equipment, including a Tascam four-track, a Yamaha DX7, TX816 and CS-10, and started making music at home. Born blind, Strom had a special connection with music and sound, and sought to act as a "consort" for her audience, "spiriting listeners through epochs described by her evocative musical passages," according to the label. As the title Trans-Millenia Music hints, she was concerned with ideas of time travel and being able to access people in both the past and future. Trans-Millenia Music was compiled from three albums and four tapes, recorded from 1982 through 1988. Watch the video for "Energies."
