Hyperdub has signed DJ Tre for a new EP.
The label says that the four-track record is "rooted in the speedy 4/4 of juke," with a "sparse and minimalist take on footwork." The Chicago-based Tre has been making music since 1999, encouraged by DJ Spinn and Rashad, though he hasn't released nearly as much music as his other Teklife colleagues.
The Underdogg isn't Tre's first appearance on Hyperdub, however—he was on the 2014 compilation Next Life. And he's just one of a number of new signings to the label this year, including Klein, Mana, Proc Fiskal and Doon Kanda.
