  • Pro-Ject is releasing five new turntables. The new FlexiRange builds on the company's Essential III turntable, a well-regarded design that retails for under €300. The new models sport the same Ortofon OM 10 cartridges, MDF plinths and platters and aluminium tonearms as the original Essential III, but each of the new decks comes with its own set of specific features. The Essential III Phono comes with an switchable, in-built phono amp, which should appeal to users without a standalone amplifier. If you're using Bluetooth headphones or speakers, the Essential III Bluetooth streams vinyl directly to your chosen device. Users playing records at 33 and 45rpm will need the Essential III SB, while the Essential III Digital comes with a 24bit/96kHz optical output for playing vinyl through a digital-to-analogue convertor. The Essential III RecordMaster, meanwhile, has a USB output for ripping records direct to your computer in addition to an in-built phono stage and a speed switch for changing from 33 to 45rpm. The Pro-Ject Essential III Phono, Bluetooth, SB, Digital and RecordMaster turntables retail for €359, €399, €399, €399 and €450 respectively and are available from late October, 2017.
