The annual music industry awards ceremony will happen at New York's Madison Square Garden on January 28th, 2018. The Recording Academy, the organisation behind the awards, today began announcing the nominees for the various categories.
Four Tet's remix of "A Violent Noise" by The xx was nominated in the Best Remixed Recording category along with Louie Vega's rework of Loleatta Holloway's "Can't Let You Go." In the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category, Jóhann Jóhannsson received a nomination for his work on Arrival while Hans Zimmer was nominated for both Dunkirk and Hidden Figures. Kraftwerk's 3-D The Catalogue and Bonobo's Migration both received nominations in the Best Dance/Electronic Album stakes. LCD Soundsystem meanwhile garnered nominations for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Dance Recording with American Dream and "Tonite."
