  • Hotflush Recordings boss Scuba is putting out Caibu, the first album from his SCB alias, in April. Paul Rose chose a title that, according to today's announcement, "refers to an imagined surgical procedure where cognitive ability is augmented through transplant from one brain to another." The 12-track release incorporates material heard on a series of three SCB EPs—the first two, Below The Line and Old Media New Society, came out last year, and the third, Engineered Morality is set to land next month—as it continues "to explore the fictional narrative in which a hypothetical timeline is corrupted by a climate-related disaster." Caibu is the fifth proper full-length for Rose. It follows four Scuba LPs, the most recent of which was 2015's Claustrophobia, and like those it's getting a release through Hotflush. Illustrator Jonathan Lawrence created the artwork for the album along with its three related EPs. Preview the album with "Intelligence Fetish."
