  • The Chicago House Music Festival will take place in Millennium Park over Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 26th. Chicago's cultural affairs department has produced a number of free house music events in the park in recent years. This one has plenty of high-profile DJs playing at the sprawling Jay Pritzker Pavilion and two other stages, according to 5 Magazine. The lineup at the Pritzker will feature Louie Vega's band Elements of Life, performing in the Windy City for the first time, along with Chez Damier and Mike Dunn. At the two other stages will be the likes of Ron Trent, DJ Deeon, Zernell and Cordell Johnson and James Vincent (the pair will represent their Excursions deep house party). The festival will also host a record fair. A number of events are set to happen ahead of the festival as well, with the nearby Chicago Cultural Center an epicenter of activity. The offerings there will include a Chicago House Music Conference on Thursday and Friday, house dance classes, and a dance demonstration at a Keith Haring exhibition.
