  • London is getting a new audiophile venue in Waterloo. Located on Leake Street, arts and event space Aures London will open later this month with a capacity of 150 seated or 250 standing. The main room, the Sensorium, will aim to affect all the senses with the ears being taken care of by a 3D soundsystem. The stereophonic rig is developed by Titan Reality™ and built using Pioneer Pro Audio XY speakers. Aures London cofounder Sam Davis says, "Our system places every listener in the venue in the 'sweet spot.' Instead of having just two sound sources at the front of the room like most venues, we have 25 sound sources on either side of the room on three sound planes. This means the listener can enjoy the dynamic power of auditorium sound while having the intimate clarity of headphones." A programme of events is still TBA. There are also plans to have a "low frequency, vibrating haptic floor" installed by later this year, according to the press release. Here's a preview of the space.
