  • Colored Music's self-titled 1981 album, originally released on Better Days, will be reissued by We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records. It's the first reissue for the valuable album, but Colored Music—a Japanese new wave and experimental group comprising Mansaku Kimura, Shuichi 'Ponta' Murakami (who collaborated with Jun Fukamachi, Yasuaki Shimizu and Haruomi Hosono), Kiyohiko Semba, Tamio 'Doyo' Kawabata and Tatsuhiko Hizawa—has been hotly tipped in recent years, thanks to an edit by Japan Blues and a remix 7-inch from Organic Music boss Chee Shimizu. Shimizu penned liner notes in English and Japanese for the new release, which comes as a 140-gram vinyl edition with Stoughton tip-on sleeve and as a digipack CD. WRWTFWW calls the album "an incredible mix of cosmic new wave, unconventional disco, avant-garde synth pop and hybrid electronic funk." It follows a series of Japanese reissues from the label, including Midori Takada's Mkwaju Ensemble LP, Yasuaki Shimizu's Kakashi and Takada's Through The Looking Glass. (The latter two were released in tandem with New York-based Palto Flats.) Tracklist A1 Colored Music A2 Anticipation A3 Ei Sei Raku A4 Sanctuary B1 Too Much Money B2 Love Hallucination B3 Third Eye - Clear Light B4 Heartbeat WRWTFWW will release Colored Music on September 21st, 2018.
