- Left Hand Path will release the LP on November 15th.
Russell E.L. Butler's debut album is coming next month.
San Francisco-based label Left Hand Path is handling the release of The Home I'd Build For Myself And All My Friends, which Butler wrote after the tragic Ghost Ship fire in 2016. The ten-track full-length will be available as a double LP, with artwork by Muzae Sesay.
"The album attempts to set out an idealistic space for the community, a space to dream in this frantic, late capitalist system, and feel what freedom and transcendence would be like," said Butler. "What does it look like when everyone has a home? What does it look like when rapists are held accountable? What does it feel like if everyone had clean water to drink? What does it feel like for a woman or a transperson to walk freely down the street?"
Revisit Matt McDermott's February feature on underground music in the Bay Area, in which he speaks with Butler about local housing policies, Club Chai and more.
