- Pedra Preta is out now on Mambarec, the label arm of São Paulo's legendary party Mamba Negra.
There's a new album from Teto Preto called Pedra Preta, out now on Mambarec.
The band is a fixture at São Paulo's much-loved Mamba Negra parties, founded by DJs Cashu and Carneosso, who also run its associated label. They're known for high-intensity shows that incorporate aspects of house, techno, jazz and and even tropicalia alongside modern dance and performance art.
The five-piece band (whose name translates to "black ceiling") works with live percussion and trombone as well as drum machines, synths and vocals. "It's a scream," they say of the album, "a green and yellow abortion, a celebration ritual of what we live and believe."
