  • Steve Moore's new album, Beloved Exile, is due via Temporary Residence Limited in May. It's been six years since Moore—who has released on a wide range of labels including L.I.E.S., Ghost Box and Relapse—has made a non-soundtrack album. Back in 2013, he put out two solo full-lengths: Pangaea Ultima on Spectrum Spools and Positronic Neural Pathways on VCO Recordings, the tape label he ran with his Zombi bandmate Tony Paterra. Since then, Moore has focused on scoring work. He's composed for more than a dozen feature films and TV shows including The Guest, Crunch Time and Mayhem. Beloved Exile's five tracks are influenced by "vintage ambient synth libraries, new age/spiritual music and the menacing horror film canon," the label says. It features Ghostly affiliated harpist Mary Lattimore, the Tunisian vocalist and songwriter Emel Mathlouthi and seasoned percussionist Jeff Gretz. John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats named the album and songs. Check out a 2012 RA interview with Steve Moore. Listen to the opening track, "Your Sentries Will Be Met With Force."
