I think all would remember a certain classic hit from the 90's by Deee-Lite called 'Groove Is In The Heart' which fused the 70's disco era with the a little something called house. That single along with the album catapulted the group into a very strong spotlight as the underground electronic music scene started to emerge from the depths.
One part of the Deee-Lite threesome, Super DJ Dimitry, comments on that debut album saying "We just thought our friends were going to like the album, but not many other people, it kind of worked out otherwise.". The group broke up in 1995 and with that, Dimitry ventured out to make a name for himself, keeping to his disco roots and DJing around the globe.
For a one night special, Super DJ Dimitry will be playing in Sydney for what should be a very groovy night of disco fun and maybe a few surprises as well. You will be able to him at Gas Nightclub on the Australia Day long weekend, Saturday January 25.
