  • Seems that during the course of the summer, respected breakbeat DJ's and producers from around the world have been launching their Aussie invasion - firing off their newly developed dubplates, remixes and tunes on unsuspecting ear drums since Fuzzy's Summer Breaks on Boxing Day. Fuzzy fans can look forward to another installment of Summer Breaks (renamed Son Of Summer Breaks) when Soul Of Man make a return with the Trickatechnologist Krafty Kuts to bang it out on the decks at Sydney's Space nightclub. Expect to hear tunes from Soul Of Man's upcoming album with new reversions of classics like Between The Eyes and Love & Hate, while Krafty Kuts does what Krafty does best - mash up a set of stonking breaks, party style hip hop, pumped up acappellas and maybe a little drum'n'bass. With Q45 and Jonathan Wall as supports you can be sure that Son Of Summer Breaks is guaranteed to be an awesome night. Fellow Fingerlickers Stereo 8 are also in town to do a couple of shows, and they hit the Arthouse for Kink/Broke-n-Beats and also Bohem Lounge for Sunday Throwdown. If you liked Groove Diggin' and their latest Can't Stop then you're in for a treat, expect to hear that and more as the boys mix and scratch their way through a funked up breaks set which should get hands in the air. Think that's all? It seems that Paul Arnold, the head honcho of Fat! records and Certificate 18 can't be arsed to go back home, he's still down under enjoying the Australian summer, and who can blame him? He's one of the special guests for the opening party of Chinese Laundry's new night, Salt Shaker, with the UK's 10 Sui scheduled to play as well. It's Paul's Birthday as well so if you are donw at the Laundry, do wish him all the best! Expect to hear a mash up of funky and nu-skool breaks as well as the funkiest of house from Illya and Julian Jason.
