  • Fuji, a new night in Melbourne, is set to take place on Saturday 20 March. Put on by those in the know, this party is aimed at bringing you a night of deep rolling beats, soothing synths and jazzy grooves. With special guest DJ/Producer Klaus "Heavyweight" Hill, you'll take a trip into the deeper side of breakbeat, where sexy, smoothe and sinful sounds come together. As part of 2Sinners (alongside Carl Hovland) Klaus Hill has delivered tracks for labels such as Distinctive, Botchit & Scarper, TCR and Ministry Of Sound. He has given the remix treatment to James Lavelle’s UNKLE project as well as Jakatta and Soul Of Man. With a residency at London’s The End club and a worldwide DJ schedule, Klaus is able to issue breakout deliveries that drop brilliantly on the dancefloor. Over the part 12 months this multi-talented musician has been back in the studio, busy producing his solo project for Tayo’s Mob Records and his own 2S2 and Conehead labels, as well as accepting an invitation to mix the second installment of the acclaimed Mob Deep series. Finding time to work on his own tracks, 2004 is going to see colossal set of solo releases for Klaus, that will take him touring from South London to South Australia. It’s the year of the Heavyweight and Klaus is the name to watch out for! Melbourne will welcome Klaus Hill again by complementing his unique sound with a unique venue and intimate vibe. Expect Fuji to be a little different, not just another party. Local talent gracing the decks will be Lynt, Dan Mangan and Hanh. Fuji is non-profit, with the $5 door tax is going to cover necessities. The action takes place at Sous Sol, 25 Bank Place, Melbourne on Saturday March 20.
