This weekend Sydney comes to Melbourne when DJ and producer Craig Obey plays at Family, Seven Nightclub, on Saturday 3 July. He has a huge list of residencies in Sydney and also does radio. Craig's style is something akin to a sexy house "scratch master". What's that mean for the punters? Craig's DJ style is a mainfloor mix of UK electro, clash and french, filtered house and breaks, mixed with Soulful and rock vocals, crazy scratches, swing-ass grooves and loads of floor stomp’n action.
On the production front, Craig is running his new record label ‘A Higher Sound Recordings’ with partners Andrew Penhallow and The Swish Group in Melbourne. The label artists include Craig Obey and the Elektrik Force, Disco Montego, The Aviators and Waldo G. Expact an album later this year from Craig. Over the last few years Craig has had 2 of his remixes on Hed Kandi compilation cd's, as well as 12 inch releases on Kompact-R, Hussle, Festival and Tinted.
With fifteen years in the business, a love of DJing and a producers technical ear, it's sure to be a fun night of house at Family this Saturday with Craig and the Family residents.
