Nokia's Terminal9 'Connecting Beats' competition is here to celebrate Australian music talent in breaks, hip hop and drum n bass. The competition will help provide a much needed platform for undiscovered or undergound artists looking to establish themselves. For the 9 finalists picked, Nokia has gathered many prizes under their wings that include:• Studio mastering of the winning track
• The track is included on the Terminal9 CD mixed by DJ Shredlock (release Oct 2004)
• A Nokia mobile phone
• A Nokia Terminal9 t-shirt
• Biography featured on terminal9.com.au
Once the 9 finalists are sorted, the judges will pick the grand prize-winner, who will receive:• Studio mastering of your winning track and 3 additional tracks, pressed onto 50 CDs
• Full CD artwork
• Return trip to London including 1 week's acommodation in Feb 2005
• A 1 hour meeting with one of the label partners of T9
Simply register at the Terminal9 website and upload your best two unpublished tracks before September 27 for a chance to get recognised. The judges for the competition come from all areas around Australia including Kid Kenobe, DJ Shredlock and Resident Advisor's David Berkley as they give the final word on who progresses towards the finals.
But there is more! Once the competition is over, the Nokia Terminal9 tour will be in full effect as it rocks 9 locations around Australia showcasing the music while lining up some big names to play as well. Lineups and dates are to be confirmed.
