  • Darkbeat spring to life with not one but two live acts next month. On Saturday 2 July at Brown Alley the special guests of Darkbeat will be Red Bee and Jono Fernandez. Red Bee are the duo of vocalist and songwriter Sara Brooke and DJ/Producer Andi Maccoll aka Andi Red. Their set will be a combination of live performance, djing, vocals and effects, aiming to push the traditional boundaries of the standard electronic set. Sara promises Red Bee will "play a mix of old and new, covers and originals ranging from ambient to progressive, breaks to house, with a bit of electro and tech thrown in for good measure." Jono Fernandez will also be playing a live set, as he did earlier this year when supporting James Zabielia and Phil K at Room680. It was a rollicking highlight of that night, and well worth checking again! In addition there will be the DJs with Rollin Connection, Mykie Ireland, Luke Simpson, Matt Hofman, Ferris, Grey (NZ) and Mod-R playing. Be sure to check Darkbeat out on July 2, and support some innovative new performers. It'll cost you only $10 to treat yourself to a musical journey of house, progressive and breaks with two live acts and eight DJ’s. Talk about good value!
