- As far as Australian Dance music is concerned yesterdays nominations were largely dominated by house producers though Infusion got a look in. Who would you vote for?
The nominees in the 28 categories of the 2005 ARIA Awards were announced yesterday in Sydney. For those who might not know, the ARIA's are industry voted music awards given each year by the Australian Record Industry Association. Membership of the judging academy is by invitation only and members are called upon to select five final nominees from a large pool for each category (final six in the Best World Music category) to progress to the final judging process.
The winners in the Artisan Award categories Best Video, Best Cover Art, Engineer of the Year and Producer of the Year were also announced yesterday and can be seen on the ARIA website.
As far as Australian Dance music is concerned yesterdays nominations were largely dominated by house producers, who also rule the commercial dance airwaves, though RA favourites Infusion got a look in. The Best Dance Release was also skewed to Melbourne talent. Check the list of the final five below.
The ARIA Awards will be held on Sunday, October 23 at the Sydney SuperDome, where all will be decided for best dance release, best male and female artist, best group, album of the year and more. Congratulations go to all nominees!
