  • Top breakbeat outfit Finger Lickin’ Records has entered the digital market by setting up its own online store and membership service. The move comes as result of over 30,000 downloads from the Finger Lickin’ catalogue being purchased via various other digital outlets and a clear realisation of the demand for the labels music in MP3 format as opposed to the traditional formats of CD/Vinyl. Taking a leaf out of Robbie Williams and Fabric websites book, Finger Lickin; will offer a unique membership service, which will give fans privialges above and beyond those of the regular web browser. Parting with £9.99 to become a member of ‘The Lick’, you will receive exclusive offers and discounts on the site, 10 free downloads, have the opportunity to buy music before anyone else and a membership card. Speaking about the move to digital, label co founder Justin Rushmore says that they are just moving forward with the times:
‘with online sales becoming so popular, it made sense for us to start something up ourselves and offer our loyal fans exclusive offers on our music and products that they won’t get elsewhere. The opportunities that the digital revolution offers are endless, and by expanding our online service we are able to offer more to our customers, especially those overseas who may not necessarily have access to our music. We are very excited to be a part of it.”
The award winning Finger Lickin'' label was set up in 1998 by Justin Rushmore and Jem Panufnik, and since has established itself as one of the worlds leading independent breakbeat labels. The London based output are nearing 1 million records sold world-wide.
