Following a string of singles from Marc Romboy in the past two years on his own label Systematic, April will finally see the label release his very first solo artist album, 'Gemini'.
Since launching Systematic back in 2004 with 'Every Day In My Life', a collaboration with Booka Shade, the label has been making a name for itself with a steady slew of releases fusing early Chicago house and mid-eighties electro, including the debut artist album, 'Man From The Fall' from young Swedish star, John Dahlback, and releases from Martin Landsky and Zoo Brazil among others.
Produced by Marc Romboy along with Stephan Bodzin and 45 Rocks, 'Gemini' has been described as 'a truly impressive collection of "state of the art" electro flavoured house tracks'. It features the additional vocal talents of Chicago house legend, Robert Owens on two tracks, and collaborations with Detroit legend Blake Baxter ('Freakin' and 'House Ya') and International Gigolo's, Tommie Sunshine.
On 'Gemini', Marc Romboy combines a number of diverse styles ranging from the deeper shades of house fused with more intense electroid flavours to the more atmospheric side of jackin' boogie beats. The album is typical of Romboy's trademark production style heard on other labels like Giant Wheel and Brique Rouge as cold crushing synths meld with some dirty bass action and impeccably-timed drums.
