Third album from Finnish dub house pinup Luomo is on its way. ‘Paper Tigers’ will be released October 16.
Luomo is the house project of Finnish producer Sasu Ripatti, elsewhere known for his ambient dub work as Vladislav Delay and Uuisitalo. Luomo fans have had to wait three years since his last album ‘The Present Lover’, which drew critical praise for its outsider take on vocal house and original production. ‘Paper Tigers’ will again see Luomo take on pop vocal house but expect another shift in perspective from the restless Finn.
Save for one track, all vocals on ‘Paper Tigers’ are again courtesy of Johanna Iivanainen, Ripatti’s longtime collaborator and a well-known jazz singer in Finland. The vocals of Iivanainen (nee Niemelä) featured on both previous albums ‘Vocalcity’ and ‘The Present Lover’ and have come to be an integral part to the Luomo sound. One song on the album also features the voice of AGF (aka Antye Greie).

‘Paper Tigers’ by Luomo will be released on Huume Recordings October 16, 2006. For those who can’t wait, ‘Really Don't Mind’ will be released as a single one month earlier on September 25, 2006.
