Want to get up close and personal with Richie? The minimal star has been chosen as the first subject for Slices DVD magazine’s new ‘Pioneers of Electronic Music’ series.
The DVD promises a look at what has made Richie tick over the last twenty years with video clips and interviews with musicians, family members and friends. If you ever wanted to see what Richie’s mum thinks of 48-hour party people, this might be the video for you. Interview subjects include Mr. & Mrs. Hawtin, brother and artist Matthew Hawtin, business partner John Acquaviva, Derrick May, Sven Väth, Mike Banks, Daniel Miller, Kevin Saunderson and Richie Hawtin himself.
‘Slices’ video magazine proper is a quarterly DVD featuring interviews, live clips and music videos all squarely focused on dance music. Previous issues have included features on Kompakt, Matthew Dear, Ricardo Villalobos, Warp Records, Mathew Jonson, harles Webster, Uffie and Ed Banger Records. ‘Slices’ comes free with a purchase at select record stores [Phonica, Juno] but back issues can be ordered from the Slices site for eight euro.
