  • James Zabiela fans can remix his latest single ‘Weird Science’ and win a featured release spot on djdownload.com. The JZ Weird Competition is giving four winners a chance to snag themselves a featured release spot on djdownload.com. Also up for grabs is a UDG producer bag personally customized by Zabiela, designed to meet the demands of the modern DJ with pockets for records, CD holders and a laptop. Laptop, records and CDs are not included. Download the parts bundled at this link and submit your remix to the Renaissance office on an audio CD before the 8th of September. Winners will appear on djdownload.com on September 25th, 2006. Organisers are looking for entrants from all dance genres, not just prog, so producers of all stripes, be they house, drum 'n' bass, techno, minimal, etc are encouraged to have a crack. But before submitting your finely crafted masterpiece, it might pay to read the fine print. All winning entries become the property of Renaissance, who “reserve the right to utilise the remixes at no further cost or consultation with the successful entrants.” So prospective candidates should look at the competition as an opportunity to get your name out there because you ain’t getting paid. Downloads from djdownload.com range from £0.99 to £1.99 per track. Rules to the competition also state that “all entrants, successful or otherwise, must not make their mixes available via hand to hand, P2P, messageboards or any other file sharing format.?
