- Despite last year's rocky debut, Ultra New York are having a second crack at Central Park with Moby, John Digweed and Junkie XL headlining the late September party.
- Despite last year's rocky debut, this year Ultra New York have lined up some big name acts for their second crack at Central Park. Headlining internationals include electronic guru Moby, prog pillar John Digweed, Dutch studio whiz Junkie XL, Soulwax (aka 2manyDJs) and Italo house pimp Benny Benassi. You'd have to be pretty unforgiving not to give Ultra New York another chance. Last year’s event was plagued by sound issues right throughout a bill which included Paul Oakenfold, Timo Maas and Mylo. They sorted it in the end, but it wasn’t till the final act The Chemical Brothers that partygoers got the sound they deserved. The problems surprised many given Ultra’s success with their long-running Ultra Music Festival held every year at the WMC in Miami. The party is a key event in the US clubbing calendar and has hosted some of the biggest drawcards in the biz including Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk. Watch out for those start and finish times as this one is an evening affair. Mustn’t disturb the neighbours in the city that never sleeps! Ultra New York is happening from 4.30 pm to 10.00 on September 22, 2006 at Rumsey Playfield, Central Park, New York City.
