What are you doing for the biggest night of the year? There are hot line-ups in the UK, beach parties in Mexico and stadium raves in America in our NYE party picks.
If you're not staying home and watching telly, have a gander at our RA picks. We've scoured the global listings to come up with the best NYE club action for 2007. The options range from a beach in Mexico to off-season clubbing in Ibiza to bums & bikinis in Melbourne. But don’t worry, if you’re stuck in the big, cold Northern megalopolises this NYE, you're hardly missing out: some of the best line-ups and nights around the world are happening in London, Detroit and Berlin this weekend.
UK & IRELAND
Hearn Street Car Park, London
8pm - late morning
Secretsundazer's Giles Smith and James Priestley take over a private car park in East London. Okay, not so secret then. Might not sound flash but this one is covered (read warm) and RA snoops tell us the Vladivar peeps will be on hand dishing out the wodka. Laptop sets from Spanish minimal techno don Alex Under, Poker Flat's Dan Berkson & James What and minimal goodness from Canada's Mike Shannon and Smith and Priestley will keep things going until late in the morning.
Event Details: Secretsundaze NYE 07 at Hearn Street Car Park
The Three Arches, London
9pm - 6am
Issst's NYE blowout takes place in two adjoining warehouses in the heart of Shoreditch on a yummy Funktion One soundsystem. Berlin electrohouse pair Tiefschwarz headline (they’re also spinning in Brighton too), but pack your nu-glowsticks too as indie-electronic outfits Simian Mobile Disco and the Klaxons also are spinning DJ sets. At 5 a.m., the party moves down the road to the Paper Mill for a joint afters with the OCD crew.

The Chemical Brothers bust out of the studio for a DJ set alongside Cagedbaby and Together general Justin Robertson while Geddes and the Mulletover crew host the second room with Freak N'Chic's :TERRY: and Silversurfer. It's The Chems on New Year's Eve so expect a squeeze. Feeling goofy? Dress up as your favourite rock star or take on Van Halen in the air guitar showdown and be in to win a bundle of prizes.
Event Details: Together NYE at Turnmills
9pm - 9am
Let's be honest: Fabric have best line-up in London this NYE. If Tobi Neumann, Booka Shade (live) and Jay Haze (live) can't get you out of the house, then throw out your turntables and buy a guitar. Head over to room two and you've got Erol Alkan, Justice, Meat Katie, Joakim & The Ectoplasmic Band (live) and Sick Rick. Hot label Innervisions lays down the deep grooves in room three with Âme, Dixon and Marcus Worgull. Local support comes from Craig Richards, Terry Francis, Jamie Jones and Rob Summerhayes. Now that's what we call programming.

Nude Year's Eve
Ministry of Sound, London
9pm - 7am
Smokin' Jo's Nude night brings in the new year with house courtesy of X-Press 2, Radio Slave, Dan Ghenacia and D'Julz plus the usual array of performances and gimmicks. The main room will be transformed into an oriental garden with lanterns, golden buddhas, geishas and samurais so remember to say gozaimasu at the bar or you might lose your head. The second room will have an eighties New York theme with breakdancers and other assorted dodgy street characters. Hang onto your wallet, then?
Event Details: Nude Year's Eve at Ministry of Sound
Rhythm Factory, London

Labels Freerange, Dubsided and iO cap off a year of top-notch releases with another OCD-party-cum-label-showcase. Um, doesn't this look like any old OCD party? Well, yes kinda, but think of this one as all of them rolled into one. Expect live sets from The Bays and Speaker Junk featuring Trevor Loveys as well as DJ sets from Jimpster, Palmskin Productions, Herve, Dave iO, Paddy Freeform plus the OCD residents. The shenanigans continue at the afters at The Papermill with the Issst mob and a special guest DJ.

New Year's Eve Beach Party
Playa del Carmen, Cancun
Sunset - Sunrise and beyond
If we could magically tardis ourselves to any party in the world this weekend, this is the one we would pick. Michael Mayer, M.A.N.D.Y and Heidi spin on a beautiful beach in Mexico – just like Sonar 2006, except the beach is real. Hopefully the mixing will be too. Damian Lazarus also spins so load up on your pastillas and follow the crowds.

Together As One
L.A. Sports Arena, Los Angeles
7:30pm - 4:30am
Upsize your New Year's Eve at the second of the big stadium-esque parties happening in LA. Together As One has - besides the cheesy name - three arenas of trance (Paul Van Dyk, Christopher Lawrence), progressive (Deep Dish - yes, both of 'em, Danny Howells), electrohouse (Steve Angello), and drum'n'bass (Ed Rush & Optical, J Magik and Dieselboy).
Event Details: Together As One NYE 2007 at L.A Sports Arena

Fiera Di Roma, Rome

This year's Amore Festival has five stages of minimal techno, hard techno, house, chill-out and hip hop, but it's the M_nus stage with - big breath - Richie Hawtin, Troy Pierce, Magda, Marc Houle (live), Heartthrob, Gaiser (live) AND JPLS (live) that's the definite crowdpuller. Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, Alex Neri, Claudio Coccoluto, Afrika Bambaata and Speedy J (live) are also playing, if anyone cares. That's Amore. That's M_nus.
Event Details: Amore Festival at Fiera Di Rome

The best place to be on NYE in Berlin, in the end, is the Berghain/Panoramabar, which has a cracking line-up of Andre Galluzzi, Luke Slater, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Len Faki, Tobias (live), Cassy, A Guy Called Gerald, Nick Höppner, Tama Sumo, Prosumer, ND_Baumecker and Daniel Wang. Galveston (Art Cube), Ghent
11pm - 6am
Big techno night at Kozzmozz featuring Deetron, Steve Rachmad, Redshape (live), Fabrice Lig, Daniel Bell and support. Belgian clubbers will be tossing between this and the big Happy 6 event in Antwerp, but we fancy this because Daniel Bell and Redshape are making it down for the night and they rock. Plus Art Cube is a cool venue.
Event Details: Kozzmozz at Galveston

Where is Ricardo Villalobos this weekend? Turns out he’s in Bucharest, Romania, going it alone all night. Mind you, when you release forty-minute long records, going it alone is not such a daunting prospect. Looks like the Kristal Glam Club is going to cook for NYE.
Event Details: Sunrise NYE at Kristal Glam Club
Loveland presents A Brand New Year
Roger Sanchez and Joey Negro whipping the sexy Dutch girls into a frenzy. We don’t know how many of the peeps for the cancelled Awakenings will show up, but if you’re Europe and you need to escape from techno hell into the arms of decent house music, remember the golden rule: Follow the Sanchez.

This one will go late, but don’t be a fool and head home with the masses – RA guarantees an afterparty upstairs on the fourth floor.
Event Details: New Year's Countdown 2007 at Womb
