  • Carl Craig and Gamall launch a new season of Demon Days parties with sessions in New York and San Francisco. This Friday Craig and Gamall bring the party to Studio B in New York, with support from Tim Sweeney [DFA, Beats in Space]. Reports were off the hook for last year’s New York session, which featured guests Rhythm & Sound, so don’t make any plans for Saturday morning. Craig and Gamall are also playing on February 9th at Mezzanine in San Francisco. Guest on the West Coast will be Norwegian discoist Lindstrom, who’ll be performing a live PA. Sources tell RA there are also parties planned for Toronto, Berlin and elsewhere in 2007 so keep you’re eyes open. Detroit techno legend Carl Craig needs no introduction, but less familiar to most is Gamall, a veteran of Rude Movements in NY and The Gardening Club in SF. “In many ways my role in Demon Days is to just be like a head cleaner,” Gamall told RA. “I’m there to set the stage for Carl to really expand people's headspace.” Craig and Gamall started the Demon Days concept in 2004 as a showcase for Carl’s Planet E label. C2 on the idea behind the night: “We're trying to do something different. We named it Demon Days because it seemed fitting with everything that's happening right now, which is all quite dark – you know, wars and hurricanes and all this crazy stuff. It's like before the twenty-first century we had the centuries of Christ, and now we're in the millennium of... evil! (laughs). Dark, yes, but I mean... it's still a party!” To get you in the mood, Carl Craig has also launched a Demon Days radio show over at Samurai.fm with sessions up by himself and Gamall. You can also download a Demon Days session from Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space show from 2005. Demon Days: An Official Planet E Selection happens at Studio B in New York on January 19 and at Mezzanine in San Francisco on February 9th, 2007.
