  • Norway's finest Röyksopp dust off their old record collection for the twenty-fifth release in the 'Back to Mine' compilation series. As the title suggests, the 'Back to Mine' compilation series is designed as a personal choice of home-listening cuts by one particular artist. The series started in 1999 and has since raided the record collections of DJs and artists such as The Orb, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Carl Cox and Dave Seaman. Next up is Scandinavian electronic pop duo Röyksopp, whose debut album 'Melody AM' (2002) sold a million copies. But don't let that put you off: Second album 'The Understanding' (2005) was more geared towards the dancefloor and spawned the big single 'What Else is There', which featured the vocals of Karin Dreijer from The Knife and was remixed by Jacques Lu Cont and Trentemoller. Röyksopp's 'Back to Mine' is an eclectic affair, including everything from blues rock (Edgar Winter) to electro (Harry Thumann) to R'n'B (New Birth) and P-Funk (Funkadelic). The single CD also contains cuts by Talking Heads, Brian Eno, Mike Oldfield and Art of Noise as well as a Röyksopp track recorded under the name Emmanuel Splice. Röyksopp 'Back to Mine' Tracklist 1.
