  • Scottish institution Slam return to their techno roots on their fourth studio album. 'Human Response' arrives at the end of June. Slam's Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle started out making techno, but most clubgoers will know them from their end-of-night house groover 'Lifetimes' from their second album 'Alien Radio', which blew up on progressive floors, or 'This World' (and its Wighnomy Brothers remix) from their last longplayer 'Year Zero', which even delved into breaks and house. On their latest effort 'Human Response' the pair go back to their roots with an eleven-track album of Detroit-inspired techno and electronica. The album features vocal collaborations with My Robot Friend, frequent collaborator Dot Allison as well as a new version of 'Looking North', the album taster which popped up on Soma Record's 200th release last year. Lead single 'Azure' is already getting rave reviews and plays from Sven Vath, Carl Craig, Josh Wink and M.A.N.D.Y. To celebrate the release of 'Human Response', RA is offering a track from the album as an exclusive download to readers – the trippy 'We're not here'. Check it out.
