  • Carl Craig launches a new season of Demon Days parties with sessions in New York, Detroit and San Francisco. C2 has two dates this month: at Mezzanine in San Francisco and Studio B in New York with Mirko from Lazy Fat People and Gamall in support. Reports were off the hook for last year’s parties, which featured guests Lindstrom and Tim Sweeney, so don’t make any plans for the next morning. There’s also a Demon Days party happening in Detroit on Independence Day as part of four-day Comerica CityFest. This one is a day party and it is free. Craig and Gamall started the Demon Days concept in 2004 as a showcase for Carl’s Planet E label. C2 on the idea behind the night: “We're trying to do something different. We named it Demon Days because it seemed fitting with everything that's happening right now, which is all quite dark – you know, wars and hurricanes and all this crazy stuff. It's like before the twenty-first century we had the centuries of Christ, and now we're in the millennium of... evil! (laughs). Dark, yes, but I mean... it's still a party!” Carl Craig has also announced a new single on Planet E to be released in June. ‘Paris Live’ is two live cuts recorded in September 2006 with a band that included Mad Mike Banks (Underground Resistance), Wendell Harrison (Tribe Records) and Kelvin Sholar (Q-Tip associate). ‘Paris Live’ tracklist A Twilight (Live in Paris) B At Les (Live in Paris) Demon Days: An Official Planet E Selection happens at Studio B in New York, Mezzanine in San Francisco and New Center, Detroit this summer.
