- East London venue Herbal has been shut down due to licencing problems.
East London venue Herbal has been shut down after having its entertainment license revoked by Hackney council.
The club posted a statement on their website announcing the closure. “Please be aware that this is totally out of our control, and we are probably the most shocked at the news. We would like to stress that this has nothing to do with crime or drugs, it's due to a small loophole in the licensing law.”
Herbal told RA that lawyers were busy this week trying to work out a solution to the problem but had no success.
The club hopes to reopen later in the year, and to put on small one-off events in the meantime under temporary licenses. Watch this space for updates.
