London house player Luke Solomon releases his debut solo album 'The Difference Engine' on Rekids in early 2008.
A fixture on London's club scene since the early nineties, Solomon wears many hats: band member (The Freaks), label owner (Classic, Music for Freaks), house producer (Crosstown Rebels, Cajual, Rekids) and DJ. Next up, he adds another string to his bow with the release of an artist album.
'The Difference Engine', which arrives on Matt Edward's Rekids label, is a thirteen-tracker that draws on early deep house, eighties punk funk, acid house as well as more contemporary electronics. "Music is about taking inspiration from the past and using it with the present in order to move forward," explains Solomon, who also calls on his skills behind the decks to piece the album together like a mix.
