- US immigration have denied entry to The Field’s new three-piece band and their gear. Result: no Coachella, no tour. Axel Willner was due to unveil his new band project this weekend, but with his musicians denied entry into the US, and the gear not making it through customs, Willner has decided to call the whole thing off and head back to Sweden. The Field was due to play Coachella this Saturday and later play four dates on West Coast, but after the border issues, Willner couldn’t be tempted to grab his laptop and go it alone instead. “My band didn't get into the country and I feel that I can't perform as interesting as I need to without them,” he explained. “Hopefully we'll be back on the East Coast pretty soon without any problems and do the new set up that I hope people will appreciate." The Field live band is due back across the Atlantic at the end of May for to Mutek so fingers crossed Canada won't play such hardball.
