- The Wax:On Live festival due to take place in Leeds this month has been cancelled.
The Wax:On Live festival, due to take place at Lotherton Hall in Leeds on May 31 has been cancelled.
Promoter Dan Blackledge explains the cancellation was due to financial woes: "On forming the company there were two streams of investment scheduled in order to ensure the event was viable in year one. This morning we have been informed that due to circumstances in the global financial market place and its knock on effect, the event has become unsustainable."
“We send out most sincere apologies to all of you that have bought tickets," says Blackledge. "We threw everything we had at the event to try and make it go ahead and we’re really disappointed we couldn’t see it through."
Ticketholders can receive a full refund from the place of purchase. The Wax:On club nights will continue to happen in Leeds and Newcastle.
