- 54 Mile End have opened a beach club.
If the London weather cooperates, it’s now possible to spend a day at the beach in Mile End. And it’s got nothing to do with global warming – 54 Mile End have opened a beach club.
The club has imported forty tonnes of white Carribean sand and laid it down out back to create an “urban beach”. The space is fitted out with decks, deckchairs, beach balls, a barbecue, and a motto of “No shoes allowed”.
Beach clubs are common in landlocked European cities, especially German ones, but the East London club is the first to add sand in the city.
