- The ADD-addled producer goes Kraut on his new album.
Riton will release his new album, Eine Kleine Nacht Musik, this month on Modular.
As the title suggests, Eine Kleine sees the producer paying tribute to his favorite Krautrock oddities by crafting some of his own. Ten tracks worth, to be exact. The result is an often experimental set that still keeps its eye on the groove. 'Finster,' for example adopts Neu!'s classic motorik groove for a ride down the Autobahn, while 'Feverprobe' could even fit in an enterprising DJ's disco punk set as an instrumental interlude. That said, Riton also indulges the freakier side of the Kraut spectrum with odd turns like 'Fachgeschäft,' which features a quavering synthesizer and solid drumbeat eerily reminiscent of Cluster.
