Deadbeat will unveil his newest full-length in October on Wagon Repair.
Entitled Roots and Wire, the album will see Scott Monteith's production alias further investigating dubby electronics. It's an album that sounds like much of his past work, yet is also informed by his recent move to Berlin where he has had a chance to collaborate more closely with some new friends, most notably Paul St. Hilaire.
Hilaire, who records under the name Tikiman, features on opener "Rise Again" and closer "Babylon Correction," two of the album's lighter sounding tunes—despite their lyrical content. In between each, Monteith goes deep, exploring the connections between dubstep, house, dancehall, and—most of all—bass.
