- The folky-dubsteppers have announced a new album, featuring spoken word material from Gerry Mitchell.
Various Production are set to follow up 2006's The World Is Gone with a full-length, made in conjunction with poet Gerry Miller—a man described in the press release for the album as the "Scottish Dostoevsky."
Fans of the aforementioned album and the band's more recent remix compilation should expect something quite different to what has come before, as Miller features on spoken word duties throughout the record. Miller wrote his parts especially for the album, entitled The Invisible Lodger, which is due out early next year. Musically, the group promises tracks on a more downtempo tip than previous material, taking in radio static, loping lo-fi grooves and even sea shanties across its 17 tracks.
